I won this back in 1984 when 2SM was king of the airwaves if you were the right number caller you would win 10 albums that were on 2SM's rotation at the time must have won a couple of hundred. Another album that I have never heard until now so that means I've owned it for 26 years without a listen and I must admit I didn't mind it.
Formed in Newcastle then relocated to Sydney They tranversed a wide range of styles from Ska, pop, reggae and swing. The single Shake this City was released October 1984 and reached No. 44 on the Australian charts and got to No. 22 in Sydney.
As a bonus I've included 3 live tracks the only info I have is 1986 Revesby, Sydney so maybe the Worker's Club.
Nice one; thanks Deutros. Upbeat and infectious. Good ol Larry Van Kriedt sure knew how to get yer feet moving!! But I'll probably remember him best for his time with Def FX.

Apparently he was in the first line up of AC DC as well motcher played bass.

ReplyDeleteAccording to an interview he did, Larry was only with AC/DC for about four months or so. Probably had something to do with the fact he didn't have a bass amp, and they were always having to scrounge one off the other bands for their sets. He was replaced with a new drummer and bass team who not only had their own gear and a PA system, but owned a large truck!! Them's the breaks I guess.
ReplyDeleteStill, he was part of the original line-up for the 1973 debut performances at the Chequers cabaret, so that's something special.

Hi, Thanks for sharing this album, very hard to find. I'm currently trying to create a complete lossless version of Choose 1985, and "Shake this city" is the only track missing. Is there any chance you could PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE upload a lossless version of at least the "shake this city" track, that would be much appreciated. Sorry, I'm not a fan of MP3, Thanks
